Sapporo Shusei Distillery was founded by Sakutarou Kaneko in Sapporo city, capital of the island of Hokkaido, in 1933. The distillery has been producing shōchu and neutral spirits using spring water from the Sapporo mountain range. It is hard to tell what is the formula of Sapporo Whisky, we know that Sapporo Shusei doesn’t distill whisky and rumor has it that the liquid is imported from Scotland. Sapporo blend is bottled at 40% abv and makes great highball, the classic Japanese way to drink whisky.
